The work would either be part-time or full-time starting as early as July 2nd and going to Sept. 30th. Specific responsibilities might include (and each position will be different depending on the skills, interests and background of the participant): 

  • Acting, singing or dancing in a show
  • Doing technical work: painting, construction, cleaning, setting up and taking down lights and sound
  • Setting up and taking down chairs
  • Counseling or mentoring younger people involved in theatre camps
  • Doing p.r., box office, front of house or backstage work
  • Inventorying costumes, props, lumber, etc.

Job sites include:

  • John Stark Regional High School
  • Hillsborough Middle School
  • Henniker Community Center and Bandstand

There is an educational component as well that would be included in the hours worked each week. Depending on the interests and skill levels of the participant college credit can be earned through Manchester Community College for classes in College Success Strategies, English Basics, College Comp or Contemporary Drama. Non-credit educational work will be in technical theatre, film production, dance, music and acting.

Pay is min. wage ($7.25 in NH) and hours will be flexible (some weekends and evenings).

  • We’re setting up interviews that will include short tests in reading and math (lasting 60 to 90 minutes) as the first step.
  • The 2nd step is to submit the application materials to the NH Dept. of Ed. for certification.
  • The 3rd step is for a 2nd meeting where we’ll go over the specific job plan that will include dates and hours with anticipated work and educational activities.
